Kitty Stars of the Week for February 20 - 26, 2000.

Moxie and Pip are an inseparable brother and sister duo. They look nearly alike, but they have very different personalities. Pip is outgoing and very relaxed, while Moxie would rather observe you from afar. They adopted a human pet together when they were 3 months old and have never been away from each other for very long. One will get intensely lonely when the other is not around. They still snuggle together (especially when a human's lap isn't available) even though they are nearly 3 years old. Moxie doesn't seem to think Pip is clean enough because she frequently cleans Pip where she plans to lay her head.

Pip prefers to play with furry mice (by throwing them in the air and pouncing them), while Moxie enjoys playing with small bits of paper that she can push around daintily with her paws. They both will play with string with their human pet (if only to humor her) and are positive that one of these days they will catch the glowing red dot that their pet produces with a laser pointer. They love to romp around and chase each other too. They are extremely nosey and love looking at the window (...ok, and Moxie will sometimes play with her reflection too...). They keep a very close eye on the human neighbors, dogs, birds, and squirrels. They are both absolutely sure that their human pet should be paying all her attention to them, especially when she seems to be more interested in typing at a computer keyboard.

Once these cats get to know you, they are extremely affectionate. Pip will immediately like anyone that's as cool and relaxed as he is. Just don't forget to scratch the side of his face, please, and you'll have a friend for life. Moxie will take a while to trust you but is just as affectionate as her brother. She loves to have the area behind the back of ears and the top her head rubbed best, and will purr loudly to show her appreciation.
