Kitty Star of the Week for Mar. 26 - Apr. 1, 2000.
Hairball is 7 years old and the brother of Snowball (whom we met last
week). According to his main person, Bob, Hairball thinks he is a dog. He
loves to be petted -- the rougher the better. He also will eat almost
anything; he'll finish off his sister's food if she doesn't eat it quickly
enough. Bob has to spread out the food dishes so that Snowball has a
chance to get her food before Hairball decides to munch on it.
Besides food, Hairball enjoys shoulder rides. He likes to bat wadded up
pieces of paper on the floor to his sister. He is also the one that wakes
Bob up. (Snowball sits off to the side and watches while Hairball does the
waking. Bob suspects that Snowball is the one who gets Hairball to do it.)
Hairball has 25 toes! He has 6 toes on 3 paws and 7 on the 4th. His one
front paw almost has an opposible thumb. He used to pick up popcorn with
that paw and eat it when he was a kitten (but he's off popcorn now).
Hairball got his name because when he was a kitten he liked to climb up
Bob's bare legs, and Bob would say "you little hairball, cut that out!"
