Kitty Star of the Week for April 23 - 29, 2000.
Katie and her feline house-mate, Buttercup, have lived in their Bowie, MD
home for only about two months. Their former person moved and could not
take the cats along. They spent about a week as street cats before being
adopted by their current human.
Katie is about 12 years old. In spite of her mature age, she enjoys some
kittenish pursuits such as playing with stuffed mice. She especially
enjoys attacking a plastic bag that crinkles nicely when touched. Chasing
moving feathers and strings are also favorite past-times. This picture
shows her on her favorite sleeping blanket.
She is very loving and affectionate, even with strangers. Katie feels
strongly that an empty human lap is greatly improved by the presence of a
cat. Whenever her person sits down at the computer, the table, the couch,
etc., Katie tries to get on her lap.
