Kitty Star of the Week for Oct. 29 - Nov. 4, 2000.
Squirr is a male, mixed Persian, about 2 or 3 years old. He lives
in an apartment building with his person-mom and person-dad. His
dad submitted his story, saying, "I feel that there's something
special and humane about this feline."
Squirr sleeps with his humans at night. His dad writes,
"I often wake
up to see he has his arms/legs around us, you know, the way a human hugs
another..he doesn't just curl up beside you, he STRETCHES his limbs over our
arms or stomach and tucks his chin into our necks."
And Squirr acts as a living alarm clock when it is time to get up.
One way he uses to get their attention is to climb over their heads,
and then caress their faces with his paw, claws sheathed.
Squirr has another way of showing affection that his humans
really appreciate. "You
could be sitting across the room, all you have to do is call him, look
straight into his eyes, and the next thing you know, he would make a beeline
for you, or rather, your face, and then even if you're sitting high, he just
stands on his hind legs, places his fat paws on your lap, and bumps into
your face or lips with his whole face, straight on. He does this often, no
matter how lazily he was originally lying."
