Kitty Star of the Week for November 12 - 18, 2000.

This week we're featuring Willow Ron. He is a 7 yr. old domestic long hair - orange tiger.

Two years ago "Willie" became very sick. For three months his people had to force-feed him three times each day, give him pills four times a day. Eventually they had to hook him up to an IV at home.

After three very long months (his humans would readjust their work schedules so someone would always be home) Willie started to improve.

Willie's mom writes,

"I can still remember the morning I woke up because I heard some noise in the bedroom. It was Willie! He had climbed a flight of stairs (the first time in three months!) to walk into the bedroom to sit in front of the sliding-glass door to see what he had missed in three months.

"I couldn't help the tears when I saw him. He was so thin and looked as though the climb had exhausted him. I jumped out of bed to give him a very gentle hug. But I knew, then, that we had him back. We give all of the credit to his veterinarian who just wasn't going to let Willie go."

Willie is now a very healthy, but very spoiled, 7 yr. old. And his people don't even mind his being spoiled! He shares our home with his sister, Patches Marie, also 7 yrs. old and his baby brother, Kenny George, a 3 yr. old orange tiger.

Willie loves to sit with his dad in the evenings. He cuddles up and makes all sorts of cute noises. His dad is convinced that Willie is a "little boy trapped in a cat's body".
