Kitty Star of the Week for Apr. 25 - May 1, 2004
The police brought Turilla to Kattholt shelter in Iceland the 7th of
October 2003; she was about six weeks old. She was quite a wild cat.
The personnel at Kattholt had to use special gloves to take her to a
cage and to an enclosure and to handle her during her first two weeks.
But they wanted to give her a chance.
Turilla's first day
When she had been in Kattholt for two weeks, she got some kind of
cold (flu?), and was so sick that her life was endangered and she
didn't eat or drink for two weeks. The vet of the shelter treated
her during that time and had to get water, etc. in her by other means.
Turilla was moved to the office of the Chairman / CEO Sigridur
Heidberg (Sigga), and after that Turilla started to change. On
the 7th of November 2003 Turilla began to eat and drink again.
Turilla sick
Her owner, Sigga, says, "I took Turilla to my home the 1st of
December 2003 and she has been there since. Now she is tender and
good natured, but her wild nature is still not far below the surface."
