Kitty Star of the Week for Feb. 27 - Mar. 4, 2000.
Josie is about 7 years old, and her person-mom is not sure how much
she weighs. Josie is an indoor cat, so her exercise is limited to
running around the apartment chasing various toys. She lives in a
high-rise apartment and enjoys sitting by the window, basking in the
sunlight and catching a breeze in nice weather. She also likes
sharpening her claws on her scratching posts and goes crazy with
catnip.
Josie used to share her home with her brother, Napoleon. They were
inseparable and loved playing together. Unfortunately, Napoleon
died at the veterinarian after he was neutered, when still a
kitten. This was very traumatic for Josie, as she lost her playmate.
Hence, she tends to be a nervous cat and hates going to the vet.
Josie is also very shy and hides under the bed whenever anyone comes
to visit. But she is very friendly with her person and enjoys being
petted, as long as it's not too close to her tail. Josie also
likes having her tummy rubbed. She doesn't like sitting on laps
or being carried around, but she likes snuggling when her person is
taking a nap, and hops into bed when her person goes to sleep for
the night.
